Dental Implantation at Gallant Clinic: Indications and Benefits
Dental implantation is a procedure in which an implant is inserted into the jawbone, and a permanent prosthesis (a crown or bridge) is placed on top. This type of prosthetic restoration is ideal when a natural tooth root is no longer present.
At Gallant Clinic, we provide dental implants followed by prosthetic restoration. Our specialists perform both single-stage and two-stage implantation using the most advanced materials and techniques.
What Is Dental Implantation and When Is It Needed?
Standard prosthetics with a crown or bridge are only possible if the patient still has a natural tooth root, which serves as the base for the prosthetic. If the root is damaged, it cannot serve as a base, as a crown or a bridge installed on it will not sustain the chewing load.
Dental implantation is a viable solution even in cases of complete edentulism (absence of all tooth roots). The implant replaces the missing root, redistributes the chewing pressure, and serves as the base for a crown or bridge depending on the clinical case.
An alternative to implants is removable dentures. They can only partially compensate for missing teeth or fully take on the chewing load.
Dental Implant Costs in Ukraine in 2025
The price of dental implants in Ukraine in 2025 is higher than in previous years, as most materials are imported. Popular implant brands include AlphaBio, MEgaGen, SGS, among others. Even local manufacturers rely on imported base materials.
The average cost of an implant (excluding surgical procedures) ranges from 6,000 to 20,000 UAH. Final costs are calculated individually based on:
- Type of implant system;
- Type of prosthesis to be installed;
- Implantation method (single-stage or two-stage);
- Need for bone grafting, etc.
And when full-service dental implantation is performed, a complete oral sanitation must be carried out beforehand. This means that if the patient has cavities, they must be treated, and plaque must be removed. Without this, implantation is not possible, as there would be a high risk of complications.
Types and Systems of Dental Implants
Implants are conventionally classified by manufacturer: Straumann, MegaGen, Osstem. It’s not possible to say that one brand’s design is better than another - they are produced using different technologies. The optimal option will be recommended by the doctor after examining the patient, taking into account clinical indications and physiological factors.
By design, implants are divided into screw-shaped and cylindrical types. Again, the optimal choice is selected individually depending on the teeth that need to be restored - in some cases, the entire dental arch needs to be replaced, in others, just a few units. This also affects the final cost of full dental implantation.
How the installation of implants is performed
The first stage — is consulting, examination of the patient, composing the optimal treatment algorithm, selection of implants, prostheses. All this is agreed with the client, so that the result fully satisfies their expectations.
The second stage — preparation. If necessary, then first bone tissue augmentation of the jaw is performed, filling with an abutment. And only after healing and osseointegration is the implant itself installed surgically.
The third stage — the period of osseointegration and final prosthetics (installation of a crown, bridge). Until this moment, the use of temporary prostheses is allowed. In some cases, one-stage implantation may be applied, when osseointegration of the implant and crown installation is done in one appointment, but this is only possible if there are appropriate clinical indications and no need for sanitation or bone tissue augmentation of the jaw. That is why the prices for dental implants with installation may vary for different patients.
Methods of implantation in case of complete tooth loss
Most often, dental implants are installed precisely in case of complete tooth loss (edentulism), because the patient in this case has only two options: use removable dentures or prefer implantation. Of course, the second option is more convenient and durable.
At the same time, different implantation techniques may be used. The most popular among them are:
- All-on-4. In this case, all prostheses are installed on 4 implants, but this technique has contraindications. For example, it is not used in case of jaw bone tissue atrophy. Also, with periodontal diseases, the use of this method is impossible.
- All-on-6. This is a modernized All-on-4 technique. In this case, 6 implants are used. Contraindications are significantly fewer, and the chewing load will be more even. Periodontal diseases are not an absolute contraindication for this type of prosthetics.
The price for dental implants with installation for All-on-6 will be higher because a greater number of structures are used and additional chemical intervention is required. But the result in most cases will be better and more durable. This technique today is recommended in case of complete edentulism.
Contraindications and limitations to implantation
Implantation is not performed if the patient has such diseases:
- diabetes mellitus;
- acute cardiovascular diseases;
- central nervous system disorders;
- bruxism;
- venereal diseases;
- blood clotting disorders;
- oncological diseases.
The final decision on the possibility of implantation is made by the doctor after consulting the patient, examining them, and reviewing their clinical case. In some cases, therapeutic treatment and further installation of removable dentures will be more appropriate instead of implantation.
Care after dental implantation
It does not matter what the price of the dental implant was or from which manufacturer the structure was used. To ensure good osseointegration, it is necessary to follow the doctor’s recommendations. In the first days, slight pain, swelling, and bleeding are possible. During this period, it is necessary to follow such recommendations:
- to minimize physical activity;
- to avoid hard, sour, salty, spicy food;
- to maintain the temperature regime while eating: the temperature of dishes should be close to 37 degrees Celsius;
- to use only a soft toothbrush for cleaning teeth, as well as a mouthwash (detailed recommendations are given by the doctor after the procedure).
It is also necessary to take the medications prescribed by the doctor, and if acute pain or chills appear, immediately seek proffesional help.
During the healing and osseointegration period, regular visits to the doctor for preventive examinations will be required. The doctor will monitor and, if necessary, adjust the process.
Frequently asked questions about dental implantation
Among patients, questions often arise about implantation, for example, how long prostheses last and whether the procedure is painful.
How long do dental implants last?
The average service life is from 20 to 50 years. This is relevant if all doctor’s requirements and oral hygiene rules are followed.
Is the implantation procedure painful?
No, the procedure is performed under anesthesia, so the patient will experience no discomfort. In the first few days after implantation, slight discomfort and bleeding from the gums are possible. This is normal.
Guarantees and possible complications
Each implant manufacturer provides guarantees. The exact period depends on the brand. If during this period the structure is damaged or broken, the patient will be given a new one.
The most serious complication is implant rejection. However, the use of modern implantation techniques and the experience of specialists at Gallant clinic minimise these risks as much as possible. The main thing is to strictly follow the doctor’s recommendations.
So, if you plan to undergo dental treatment or are interested in the price of a tooth implant, you can contact Gallant clinic. The highest quality materials, individual approach, affordable cost — these are just the basic advantages each of our clients can count on.
