Dental adaptation for children
Dental Adaptation for Children at Gallant Clinic is a set of measures aimed at making visits to the dentist comfortable and fearless for young patients. Our team of experienced pediatric dentists uses special methods and approaches to help children get used to dental procedures and develop a positive attitude toward dental care.
Our services include:
First Visit to the Dentist
Introduction to the clinic and the dentist, with an examination presented as a game. The dentist explains the basics of oral hygiene to the child in an accessible way.
Individual Approach
Every child is unique, so we tailor our approach to each young patient, taking into account their age, character, and emotional state.
Playful Methods
Use of toys, cartoons, and other entertaining elements during procedures. This helps the child relax and feel safe.
Education and Motivation
The dentist teaches children proper dental care using special educational materials. We motivate children to brush regularly and visit the dentist.
Sedation and Anesthesia
For children who experience strong fear or anxiety before procedures, we offer safe sedation and anesthesia methods to ensure maximum comfort.
Stages of Adaptation:
Initial Consultation
Examination of the oral cavity, assessment of the teeth and gums, and determination of necessary treatments. The dentist talks with the parents, explaining all aspects of dental care.
Treatment and Prevention Plan
Development of an individual treatment and preventive plan that considers the child’s health specifics and emotional state.
Gradual Procedures
Carrying out necessary dental procedures in a calm and friendly atmosphere. The dentist explains each step of the procedure to the child using terms they can understand.
Control and Support
Regular visits to monitor the condition of teeth and gums and to support good oral hygiene habits. The dentist is always ready to answer questions and provide additional recommendations.
Post-Procedure Care:
Proper oral hygiene: Brush teeth twice a day using fluoride toothpaste.
Balanced nutrition: Avoid excessive consumption of sweets and sugary drinks.
Regular dental visits: Preventive check-ups every 6 months to timely detect and treat problems.

How can parents prepare their child for a visit to the dentist?
A dental visit should be planned in advance so that by the age of 4-5, the child has positive experiences with the dentist. Start taking your child to the dentist for preventive and adaptive purposes from 1.5-2 years old.
Before the dental visit, it is also important to prepare not only the child but yourself:
- The best thing parents can do is not to worry and stay confident;
- Do not emphasise the upcoming visit to the doctor. Tell the child about it 1-2 days before as if it is something normal;
- Prepare the little child for the dental visit through play: buy a toy dental kit from a children's store and play "tooth fairy" at home;
- Try not to lie to the child about what will happen during the appointment. Do not say the doctor will do nothing or just “take a look”;
- Do not scold the child if the visit did not go well. Instead, praise the child for the effort;
- Be sure to feed the child well before going to the dentist. First, a well-fed child is a happy child; second, less saliva is produced during treatment or examination.
It is possible that during the first few visits, the child may not interact with the dentist — this is completely normal.
Who should come with the child to the first dental appointment?
The person accompanying the child should be someone who does not have a fear of dental procedures and is an authority figure for the child.

Testimonials
We visited a pediatric dentist at Gallant Dental Clinic and were very satisfied. The staff showed great care and found the right approach to our child. Sedation was used, and the procedure was completely painless for the child. We were left with only positive impressions from the dental treatment and will continue to come to you in the future :)
I had the opportunity to visit your dental clinic with my 7-year-old daughter. We were left with only positive and pleasant emotions. I sincerely thank Viktor Andriyovych and the staff for their help and approach to the child. Thanks to you and your approach to children, my daughter’s fear of dentists, which she had before, has disappeared. I am truly grateful to you!
