Types of braces

Stages of treatment with brace systems

Correction of the bite occurs in several stages:

1. Diagnostics. The doctor thoroughly examines the patient using various radiography methods and other instrumental examinations. 2. Preparatory stage. The duration of the treatment stage depends on the degree of dentoalveolar anomaly the patient’s age and other factors and lasts 12–15 months. It is necessary to visit the doctor 1–2 times a month.

To maintain the result both removable and fixed retainers are used. The duration of this stage is usually 1.5 to 2 times longer than the period of active treatment.
